Carmen Greiner (she/her) first opened Lighthouse Counseling of Fredericksburg in 2008. She was licensed as a Professional Counselor in 1998 and credentialed as a Master Addictions Counselor in 2000. She has extensive experience working in both community mental health, court involved treatment, and private practice. Her specialties include counseling those who identify under the queer umbrella, those who use substances, and persons who struggle with symptoms of depression, anxiety or Borderline Personality Disorder. She has received extensive education in the provision of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Most recently, her work has focused on “Harm Reduction” – a set of interventions with those who use substances focusing on safety rather than just abstinence. Ms. Greiner provides a wide variety of trainings to criminal justice staff and other therapists in a variety of issues including: ethics, treatment with LGBTQIA persons, substance use and DBT. In her time off, Ms. Greiner enjoys playing music, traveling with her wife to visit art museums and posting pictures of baby animals.
