Anger Management Program

The anger management program at Lighthouse Counseling includes weekly individual and/or group therapy designed to teach the basics of anger management. The curriculum is designed for people who have had some issues related to acting out in anger but who are not actively involved in domestic violence.

The group is primarily an educational class. Clients wanting to add an opportunity to address specific conflict management, emotion regulation and interpersonal issues are offered the opportunity for individual therapy, either in place of, or in conjunction with group.

The Anger management program at Lighthouse Counseling is designed to teach:

  • Relaxation skills
  • Identification of emotions and cues to anger
  • Communication skills
  • Basics of cognitive reframing and self-talk
  • Stress management
  • Conflict resolution
  • Domestic violence definitions and cycles

The group program is 10 weeks and designed to meet criteria for court mandated anger management.
