Anger management therapy at Lighthouse Counseling is provided individually rather than in a group format. This allows for greater confidentiality, more individualized treatment and a more targeted combination counseling and education. Therapy can be provided in one half hour, or one-hour sessions and clients can either self-pay or use their insurance.

Anger management counseling is designed for people who have had some issues related to acting out in anger but who are not actively involved in domestic violence. Our program meets criteria for court involved persons and generally runs about 10 sessions. Clients seeking to improve their anger/emotion regulation without court involvement are also welcome.

Skills discussed might include:

Relaxation skills

Identification of emotions and cues to anger

Communication skills

Basics of cognitive reframing and self-talk

Stress management
