Court-Mandated Care & DOT/SAP Assessments
If you have been required to complete counseling, an assessment, or treatment because of a court, employer, probation, ASAP, DSS, or DOT-related requirement, the process can feel stressful and confusing.
With more than 30 years of experience serving the Fredericksburg region, our team has built longstanding professional relationships with local courts, attorneys, probation officers, and other community partners, helping clients navigate legal requirements with confidence and care.

Support For Mandated Treatment
Mandated treatment is counseling or assessment required by a referral source, such as:
- Probation
- The courts
- DSS
- Employers
- ASAP
- Substance abuse treatment referrals
Our team understands that clients need support, clarity, and respectful treatment. We also understand the documentation, communication, and coordination that referral sources may require, allowing us to provide a seamless experience for both clients and referring professionals.
We Work With You
Even when treatment is required by someone else, you are still the client.
Our goal is to help you understand the process, complete needed steps, and use treatment in a way that supports your goals. When appropriate, Lighthouse can coordinate with referral sources as part of treatment planning and monitoring.
DOT/SAP Assessments
Some employees covered by Department of Transportation regulations must complete a return-to-duty process after a drug or alcohol violation. This process must be conducted by a qualified Substance Abuse Professional, often called a SAP.
A DOT assessment through Lighthouse includes a clinical assessment and may require communication with your employer, medical review officer, and treatment provider or educator.
The SAP provides recommendations, follows up after completion of recommended steps, and sends required reporting to the employer when appropriate.
